
Meet Rebecca Houtsma
​
Rebecca Houtsma, BSc, BEd, MA, MS, CCC-SLP, is a wife, mother of three grown children, retired Speech and Language Pathologist and educator. As a Speech Therapist, Rebecca spent her career working with children with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, stuttering, and other speeech and language problems, and with students studying to be Speech Therapists. She worked in public schools in Central Illinois and in Illinois State University’s Laboratory School and Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Rebecca believes in scientific, evidence-based, culturally-sensitive, child and family centered practice. Rebecca lives in New Brunswick, Canada, where she supports her elderly parents. She loves being outside in nature, studying and practicing energy healing, learning to play the cello, writing, and enjoying time with her husband, family, and friends.
